Boscombe Pier

I took a relatively early trip over to Boscombe recently to check out the pier and to try and capture some of the dawn morning magic.  It was an extremely fresh day but several layers of a thermal polyester viscose mix, combined with less than tasty but hot tea and the essential chewy toffee chocolate bar, helped to keep the spirits up and the focus on the potential image possibilities.

It was a beautifully calm morning, with just the slow, rhythmic sound of gently lapping waves breaking the silence and the Isle of Purbeck clearly visible through the arches. Completed in 1889, the 182m  pier has been described as ‘one of the coolest piers in the country’.
